What Is Bridging Visa C?

Bridging Visa C (subclass 030) is a temporary visa for people in Australia who have become unlawful but have already applied for a new substantive visa. It allows you to remain legally in the country while your new visa application is being decided.

You might need a bridge visa C if:

  • Your last visa has expired

  • You applied late for a new visa

  • You are currently unlawful in Australia

  • This visa doesn’t give you permanent residency but gives you a legal status while waiting for your new visa decision.

Who Can Apply for a Bridging Visa C?

You may be eligible to apply for a bridging c visa if:

  • You’re in Australia at the time of applying.

  • You are currently unlawful (i.e., your previous visa expired).

  • You have already lodged a valid application for another visa (substantive visa).

  • You haven’t previously been granted a Bridging Visa E.

Make sure your new visa application is already submitted before applying for a Bridging Visa C.
